Fringe Frenzy: Fall 2025’s Tassel Takeover

Fringe Frenzy: Fall 2025’s Tassel Takeover

Quiet luxury had a good run, but Fall 2025 is bringing movement, texture, and a little drama back to the clothes rack. Fringe isn’t just having a moment – it’s everywhere, from couture runways to TikTok DIYs. If your outfit doesn’t sway when you walk, you’re already behind.

Fringe Takes Over the Runway

Designers this season took fringe out of its 1920s-only box and turned it into high-fashion currency. At NYFW, Altuzarra and Fforme sent models out in fringe-heavy silk and satin dresses that felt more red carpet than speakeasy.

And it’s not just one vibe. This fall’s fringe comes in multiple style lanes: suede jackets for the cowboy-core crowd, shredded denim for grunge revivalists, crochet shawls for the boho loyalists, and rhinestone-draped dresses for full glam nights.

Designers from Stella McCartney to Bottega Veneta have all jumped in, proving fringe is more than a festival afterthought – it’s a season-defining texture.

Street style is just as tassel-happy. Copenhagen Fashion Week saw coats, handbags, and skirts swinging in the breeze. Coachella turned into a fringe showroom – like coastal cowgirl but levelled up with metallic boots and statement belts. TikTok’s #fringeoutfit and #cowboycore hashtags are packed with creators turning thrift finds into fringe jackets or shredding old jeans into skirts.

There’s also a Y2K boho comeback happening – Sienna Miller-era crochet tops, low belts, and tasseled bags – and an edgier, dystopia-core fringe moment with tattered, uneven layers for that post-apocalyptic look. Whether glam or grunge, the streets are swishing.

Taylor Swift worked fringe into her Eras Tour, turning movement into a visual effect mid-song. Off-stage, Julianne Moore, Halle Berry, Priyanka Chopra, Gigi Hadid, and Gabrielle Union have all worn fringe recently – proving it works on the red carpet, in street style, and across generations.

Why Now?

After years of beige minimalism, fringe is the antidote: playful, tactile, and made for movement. It taps into multiple nostalgia waves – Roaring ’20s glam, Western Americana, early-2000s boho – and looks great in motion on socials. Plus, in an age where every outfit is potential content, fringe’s swish factor is basically built-in special effects.

The Fringe Era

You can go all out with a head-to-toe fringe dress or keep it subtle with a tasselled bag. Either way, Fall 2025 is proof: fashion’s ready to loosen up, have fun, and maybe sway a little while doing it.
