The 28-year-old beauty mogul stepped out Wednesday night at Vogue’s Audemars Piguet event sporting what might be the most understated flex of the year: a chrome-finished French manicure. The timing? Impeccable—just one day after news broke that e.l.f. is acquiring Rhode for $800 million upfront plus another $200 million based on performance.
Her nail artist Zola Ganzorigt broke down the full recipe on Instagram, calling it “glazed donut nails with a little twist.”
The technique: one coat of OPI’s Funny Bunny for the French tips, followed by a sheer coat mixing Funny Bunny with top coat to soften the color, then finished with Tin Man Can chrome powder for that signature shine.
It’s essentially an American manicure with a chrome finish—and yes, it’s totally reminiscent of the OG glazed donut nails that Bieber and Ganzorigt created back in summer 2022, right when Rhode launched.

Technically, it’s more of an American manicure (softer than a traditional French) with a chrome finish—a perfect example of the minimalist nail trends taking over right now.
The manicure perfectly complemented her custom YSL micro mini, proving once again that Bieber knows how to make minimalism feel fresh.
While the rest of us are still processing the magnitude of this deal (she’s staying on to lead creative direction, btw), she’s already moved on to setting the next big nail trend.
The chrome French is having a moment right now, bridging the gap between clean girl aesthetic and something a bit more elevated. Consider this your sign to screenshot for your next salon appointment—because if a billion-dollar deal calls for understated chrome tips, maybe our random Tuesday does too.
